Ulrika Bodén Band
Melodic drum beats and warm nylon strings, driving fiddles and blue-edged trumpet lines. Ulrika Bodén Band found an original sound together when they made the album Kärlekssånger – Folk Love Songs.
Ecstatically happy, tough and bittersweet texts chosen with great care; love as seen through different perspectives from folklore and poetry. The music is both calmly beautiful and full of energy with a lot of rhythm and exuberance!
Ulrika Bodén Band is a quintet with eight members, with alternating musicians on some of the posts:
Emma Ahlberg / Mia Marin, five-string violin
Gustav Hylén, trumpet
Daniel Fredriksson, mandora / Mattias Perez, nylon string guitar
Petter Berndalen / Valter Kinbom, percussion
Ulrika Bodén, song, härjedalspipa, autoharp
The album Kärlekssånger – Folk Love Songs was recorded in 2013 in Mahogny Studios in Noraström and was produced by Martin von Schmalensee.
Kärlekssånger won the 2014 Manifestpris in the folk music category and was nominated in the category ‘Best CD/DVD/Book’ at the Folk & World Music Gala 2014
